Richard Hambleton is an amazing painter who’s been around for years. Born in Vancouver, Canada, he currently resides and works in New York City’s Lower East Side. Hambleton has been a part of NYC’s art culture through the 70′s, 80′s, 90′, and now 2000′s, and his work only seems to get fresher and better. In a recent interview with Juxtapoz magazine Hambleton states “Time for me is running out”, I’d have to disagree. His paintings are dope and timeless. I can’t pinpoint his style, but some of it reminds me of graffiti and street art. His paintings lately have a real New York feel to it, while others are left up to the viewers to interpret. I’m definitely stamping Richard Hambleton a Certified Artoholik!
