Men’s grooming brand Scotch Porter wasn’t always a men’s grooming brand. In fact Scotch Porter wasn’t always Scotch Porter. NUDE was once the name and NUDE carried both men and women hair care products. The issue was, only men liked it.


the challenge

Develop a new brand name, a new brand look, and new communication strategy.  We had to do this while making sure we didn’t confuse the existing following.  We needed them to understand that the heart of the brand would remain unchanged and what they would see was merely a little cosmetic surgery, which would bring along a whole slate of new products with the same soul but more gusto.

approach

With only two months to make the switch, we dedicated one month to developing the Name, Look and Voice.  The second month was dedicated to developing a plan to roll out teaser content via social media while working with the Scotch Porter team to produce other brand assets such as Website, Packaging, Print Material, and Online marketing.

solution

We worked with outside consultants to deliver on schedule. These consultants helped produce name ideas, brand elements such as fonts, color schemes, and writing copy. This helped because we were then able to bring a bunch of material to the Scotch Porter team and brainstorm execution ideas while still having time to execute. With all elements selected and agreed upon, we rolled up our sleeves and went in.  We designed, coded, and managed a successful re-brand launch.
